Dave’s Garden Journal 2013 – Roses

Orange Crush Climbing Rose
Orange Crush Climbing Rose

We had lots going on in the garden this year. While I was at my local home improvement center in early spring I saw this bright red rose-bush. I’ve been wanting to get a climbing flower for the longest time. I’ve had a single trellis that’s just sitting around and I wanted to put it to use. So I bought this neat little red climbing rose to plant in the back yard. I contemplated planting it against the house off to the side, but realized I’d have a better view right next to the patio and be able to enjoy it more in this location.

The purpose of this journal entry is to record what was done this year before I forget. I have a crappy memory so writing this kind of stuff down helps me to remember what, when and how I did things. I’m looking forward to seeing how this does next year.

Here are the details:

October 7, 2013, Update on the rose-bush.

This thing really took off in late summer early fall. There is one branch that already reaches the top of the patio roof. I hope it survives the winter. Looking forward to a nice full bush with these nicely colored flowers.

Thanks for stopping by

David
