I recently had the chance to listen to The Awakening: The Dragon Heart Legacy, Book 1 (The Dragon Heart Legacy, 1) by Nora Roberts.
To be honest I’ve always heard Nora Robert’s books were gushy romance stories, targeted mostly to women. I will also admit this is the first book I’ve read / listened to from Nora.
I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed listening to The Awakening. As a male reader I’m disappointed that I waited so long to read Nora’s work. The Awakening has elements closely related to Harry Potter with witches and magic.
One of the reasons The Awakenings was so appealing to me is that it reminded me of a vacation I took to Ireland in early 2000 with some close friends. The Awakening’s main character Breen is living in Philadelphia and travels to Ireland to seek her long-lost father.
That makes two audio books in February of this year 2021. Love Lettering: A Witty and Heartfelt Love Story and now The Awakening: The Dragon Heart Legacy, Book 1 (The Dragon Heart Legacy, 1). I’ve had lots of extra time this year, and it has been great to expand different genres and authors not often on my reading list.
If you are looking for some good crack, witches and magic style, this book is a great read/listen to. This article is to remind myself that I listen to the audio version of this in February of 2021. Downloaded with the Libby App and recommended by my local library book club.
