Dave Gates reporting in for my tenth Jewel-Osco Saturday Morning Sampler Savings Report of 2018. I’ve noticed a slowdown in the Saturday Morning Sample freebies.
I though it would be interesting to report how much I’ve saved by redeeming the coupons for free items at our local grocery store.
We live in the Chicago-Land area and one of the major stores is Jewel-Osco. Last year I signed up for MyMixx rewards and downloaded their smart phone app.
Many blogs publish income reports on how much their blogs and businesses earn. I’ve decided to take this concept and turn it around a bit.
Instead of reporting on how much my blog is making, I plan to report how much I’m saving by redeeming coupons for free items. It’s kinda fun to track how this adds up.

Overview
Any blogger will tell you there is a lot of work behind creating the articles and maintaining a blog. But it is actually fun and interesting. There are many ups and downs along the way.
Our traffic is slowing decreasing, and I’ll need to investigate why. I know I’ve been super busy juggling several projects and find it hard to stay focused on analyzing exactly why.

Our current email newsletter service is with Mailchimp.
My plan is to track the growth of this list. I joined last year, we have a great base to start with. Everything I read suggest offering something of value for free. Do you have any suggestions?

BLOG UPDATES
Slow and declining traffic again in October. I’ve been super busy building the tree house, so my focus has been on that and not paying a tremendous amount of time here on davegates.net.
I’ve also noticed a slow down in Saturday Morning Sampler offerings. So I’m wondering if this will continue.
I’m still loving the themes from Studiopress. I highly recommend them. I’m currently using the Lifestyle Pro Theme for davegates.net.

Time to get this tree house up. Yeah!!! Most of the pieces are completed, and now the back yard is prepped and the floor fame has been moved into place. For more on that project head over the first article Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Tree House Project Part One The idea The Plan.
Tree House is up, but with the continued wet weather and now cold, weather we will need to pause and continue this in the spring or summer.

I want to mention I’ve noticed Jewel-Osco offering more #wordoftheday items. Maybe they are focusing more on this sort of promotion than on the Saturday Morning Samplers.
Already in October, there are two back to back word of the day items. Just thought I’d mention that.
MOVING FORWARD
The plan is to continue visiting my local Jewel-Osco on Saturday morning’s for their Free items. I’m a sucker for free stuff.
FYI, I’ve be working on the Tree-House Project. We need to get this thing done now, so I’ll be focusing on that.
