Link to the Show: 009 – Financial Independence at Age 30 (by House Hacking + Side Hustles) with Drew from Guy on Fire.
I started listening to the Bigger Pockets Money Podcast towards the beginning of 2020. I listened to this episode again on Saturday June 27, 2020 and wrote up my notes.
The focus of creating this article is to track my thoughts and reviews of each episode. My memory sucks so having a place on this blog to keep my notes was perfect.
Highlights
I like to listen to the full episode and then write what sticks out for me. There is always a lot of useful information and discussion that occurs during the show, but the following bullet points are what sticks out for me.
- Bikes to work, FI trend.
- Found FI last year in college. Another house hacking story.
- Woke up early to drive kid to swim practice.
- How to get to a millionaire by age 30?
- 203k FHA loan, this is a fix up loan. Low down payment to acquire a property.
- Keeps a lot of cash on hand for reserves.
- To live like a college student as long as you can.

Review
Drew worked in the commercial real estate field out of college. House hack story with this friends, lived at home for awhile. Had $20,000 in student loan debt. I wish he would have spoken more about his Dividend reports that he writes about on his blog.
